The concept of technology: the technology provides the teacher the tools on planning and development  trough technological resources in order to improve the teaching and learning process.

ICTs en education: The information and communication technologies (ICT) contribute to the teaching -learning  process, giving a better efficiency to the educational system and a higher quality of professional teacher development.
The use of information technologies makes us part of an increasingly globalized and  multicultural world that allows more people to be communicated under the principle of knowledge.

The use of technology in English teaching and learning: It is the implementation of strategies which involve, include traditional teaching, materials with information, and communication technologies to promote students motivation to learn trough the distance.

The advantages of information technology in teaching English: at present is important to learn different languages. The English language is socially required during globalization for the exchange of information and technology. The second language support students to have a good job and betters opportunities.

 The impact of using teconology: The impact of tecnology in the teaching english as a second language has been significant as tecnological development to implement new learning, using audiovisual materials, chats and other tools to facility managment of teaching learning in education.

Technology: Technology means not only products but its also associated with the knowledge and  information of it use,the application and process in developing a product, technology is  embodied in people, materials, cognitive and physical process, facilities and tools. The technology can be  transfer in its   commercialization into  the marketplace, involving an intentional, goal-oriented interaction between two or more social entities.

Information  and communication technology integration: 
Information and communication technologies are powerful tools to promote knowledge, but more than that, the challenge lies in the use of such knowledge and other procedural and attitudinal resources within the competence-based approach to digital and media competence , Applying it with the new methodologies that are incorporated in the different areas and situations of life. The pedagogical integration of ICTs and their curricular inclusion are concertized in a curriculum development of the digital competence, learning about ICTs, learning ICTs and learning ICTs, ICTs being a mediating instrument of transversal and disciplinary processes, instrument To store and present a content as teaching-learning and an instrument that contributes to the development of attention, curiosity, interest, motivation, awareness, self-regulation, communicative processes and attitudes of cooperation.

Use of technology in English Language:
The new era assigns new challenges and duties on the modern teacher with  remarkable entry of technology, making teaching interesting and more productive.  Technology brings  social and linguistic changes in education, work and culture, technology is used to  satisfy visual and auditory sense of the students.

With the develop of multimedia technology and its application to teaching comes into full play in English class teaching and set a favorable platform for reform and  exploration on English teaching model in which technological innovations has change the way we communicate and the techniques applied, speaking, reading, writing and listened to work in the four English competences.

The advantage of technology:

Technology has given advantages to teaching by providing tools to improve processes, shorten distances, reach new dimensions. Undoubtedly the most benefited with the appearance of technology are teachers and students as they can use this tool to improve learning processes. Distance education students witness the benefits of technology. The good use of technology is an advantage for humanity in general.

The impact of using technology:
Learning a second language aims to develop four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. In English these skills are divided into two, input and output. Regardless of how these skills are divided, the technology conspires with each one to improve and stimulate its development, generating a positive impact on the learning process of English as a second language.

1. Defining the Concepts of Technology and Technology Transfer

It is indeed challenging to define the concept of technology in one short sentence for all depends on the agencies, departments or specialists who are using it for its own purposes. However, I would say that technology relates to the physical equipment, software tools and processes that help developing products, projects and services, as well  as a "configuration" or a network of interconnected things, where knowledge and techniques are used to transfer back and forth information with particular skill of men and women. Therefore, technology is embodied in people, materials, tools, cognitive, physical processes, etc.  Now, in regard with technology transfer the same issue of complexity applies  for it has many definitions based on the disciplines of research that use it, however, technology transfer is a process by which ideas and concepts are moved from the manufacturer to the outside world.

2. Integration of Information and Communication Technologies in Enhancing Teaching and Learning

Integration of Information and Communication Technologies intends to apply technology to the educational systems to improve the effectiveness of teaching and motivate special learning experiences. However, this is not always the reality that many elementary, middle and high schools have for their lack of resources and a lack of a structured plan on how to implement technology in a creative way to strengthen students needs and weaknesses of each school, for ICT Integration requires a systematic mechanism to plan, manage, regulate, and sustain school programs at a national, regional, and institutional level. Besides, technology without teacher training is a waste of money, for the teacher must be the active and leading  role to students in class. ICT integration depends on the teacher's knowledge and wisdom.  

3. Use of Technology in English Language Teaching and Learning”: An Analysis.

As a voluntary collaborator on the EC LILE Skype encounters I have seen how motivation and interest increases on students when YouTube videos, audios, and other multimedia content are used to help their learning process. For example,  I have used an audio recorder, a video editor program and an audio editor software to adapt certain videos and audios from YouTube and make them more relevant to the quizzes and activities for the Skype Encounters.  Students seem to be quite happier and encouraged with the way how these tools and materials  have been used to promote English speaking skills and critical thinking skills during debates and conversations. All this is thanks to the use of technology for encouraging students to practice English. However, teachers needs to know how to manage all the multimedia tools and be knowledgeable of the different teaching methods to keep the class active, and try to address the learning styles of their students.  

4. The Advantages of Information Technology in Teaching English Language

As teachers and students technology allow us to address English teaching or learning , or any other language, in different learning styles and teaching approaches. It allow us to gather in groups to edit projects and do collaborative work online thru great distances, like UNAD. When practicing with native speakers students can learn more about culture and language. Also, with computers, tablets, cell phones and software applications the class can become more dynamic and motivated with the use of new teaching strategies. Also, with technology formative and summative assessments can be implemented online and facilitate our students a closer and more convenient access to the grades and performance to keep them alert, challenged and motivated to improve next time. This is something that has been implemented on English Conversation Skype encounters, for students are able to see their performance every week, and tutors are able to register and record their students' actions to keep track of their performance and behavior.

5. The Impact of Using Technology in Teaching English as a Second Language

As I was saying in previous comments that technology helps indeed with the practice of English in the four areas like listening, speaking, writing and reading. For example, on English Conversation Skype Encounters  audios are sent to students to evaluate listening comprehension, and later they are invited to participate in warm-up activities related with reading short dialogs and stories aloud to learn new vocabulary and practice pronunciation, and receive correction on that area. And then they are encourage to answer questions and use their speaking skills to answer them, like CAE and IELTS type questions. The only thing that is lacking is the use of technology software for practicing writing. All these things will help students learn faster and more effectively. Perhaps a laboratory software could be included.

1.        The Concept of Technology:

There have been many definitions throughout the year about technology, choosing one there are two basic components that can be identified: 1) ‘knowledge’ or technique; and 2) ‘doing things’. Technology is always connected with obtaining certain result, resolving certain problems, completing certain tasks using particular skills, employing knowledge and exploiting assets (Lan and Young, 1996). This definition is a simple explanation about what technology is in order to understand how the knowledge plus technique and the doing combine to  get a result.

2.         ICTs in Education:

Integration of Information and Communication Technologies  have been an excellent tool to  Enhance the teaching experience and reach the goals in the Teaching and Learning process because this is the era of  communication facilities, for that reason  ICTs have revolutionized the education field, changing the ancient model of teacher, board, chalk and saliva in a interaction process with the society.

3.  The Use of Technology in English Teaching and Learning

The language  Teaching has as objective to develop in the learner 4 skills two of them are output skill as writing and speaking, the other ones are input skills  listening and reading, therefore learning a second language is a communication process which needs the  interaction and the work inside the society to develop those skills in a effective way and the use of technology has let that.

4. The Advantages of Information Technology in Teaching English 

ICTs  present many advantages in Teaching English:
 
* Using  multimedia lets  to create a context to teach English
* The computer  or different devices  are the means by which skills 
   are transferred to learners in a more real context.
* Efficiency  to make a standard evaluation of knowledge, not just 
   efficiency in time but in organization and fulfillment of goals
* Interaction among learners and  learners-teachers.
* Motivate learners to learn English using their devices
* Learners can learn in an autonomous way, it will let them check 
   their own progress.
* Using Modern technical ways demand tha the teacher change 
   their paradigm of teaching and learn how to  follow for effective 
   learning and teaching of the second language.

5. The Impact of Using Technology

Using technology has had a great impact in the society in many fields: education, industry and communication, but there  is a negative impact too. As technology has developed, the incorporation of this medium into the instruction process becomes necessary,  however  when a person cannot access to technology may feel that is not able to do something without it, so this has increase  lacking of recursive people.

In the education field it is important   to make English teachers aware of the strategies to use it in an effective manner, because the cyber-bullying has increase many problems in the education field.
